I am an independent compliance consultant. I work with organisations that hold personal data and need a compliance function they cannot justify employing — on data protection, governance and risk, and the use of AI at work.

I have worked inside regulated businesses rather than only advising them. That includes FCA-authorised consumer credit and identity verification work, and running a Disclosure and Barring Service registered body handling criminal record and special category data. The practical detail of eligibility decisions, retention, subject access and audit is familiar to me from operating it, not from reading about it.

I am an Associate Member of the International Compliance Association and am studying for the ICA Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Alongside consultancy I build the systems the frameworks depend on — secure reporting portals, case management and compliance registers — for organisations handling sensitive personal data.

I write about news media, politics, extremism and antisemitism, and provide technical and data consultancy for organisations working in that field.
